The Law Enforcement Training Committee

Mission
The NTCC Law Enforcement Training Committee (LETC) is dedicated to enhancing the operational readiness, leadership capacity, and overall wellness of law enforcement officers across North Texas. By fostering inter-agency collaboration and delivering advanced, research-based training—including ALERRT’s nationally recognized courses—LETC prepares both officers and civilians to respond to critical incidents while building trust within the communities they serve.

Vision
A region where every law enforcement agency and civilian is equipped with the training, tools, and partnerships needed to respond confidently and effectively to active threats, ensuring public safety and resilience throughout North Texas.

Strategic Priorities
LETC’s efforts are organized around four key pillars:
-
Active Threat Response
We prioritize preparedness by delivering ALERRT Level I and CRASE (Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events) training. These nationally certified courses equip first responders and civilians with critical strategies for survival and effective crisis response. -
Leadership Development
We are building the next generation of law enforcement leaders through structured mentorship and cohort-based programs. These initiatives target second-line supervisors (Lieutenant to Commander), enhancing their capacity to lead in crisis, promote wellness, and navigate complex operational environments. -
Officer Wellness
We champion mental, emotional, and physical wellness across all agencies. Our programs aim to remove stigma, identify systemic barriers to wellness, and integrate proactive strategies into department cultures—because resilient officers create safer communities. -
Community Trust
We foster public trust by encouraging transparency, accountability, and engagement. Through training, outreach, and joint preparedness efforts, we strengthen the bond between law enforcement and the communities they serve.
